Scandi Style Kitchen

Here is a great Scandinavian style kitchen that has been designed for a Swedish-American family in Brooklyn, New York. I like how the dividers create the spaces without having to build walls - it keeps the overall interior spacious and creates a flow throughout.

Stainless steel bench top with exposed plywood edge.

This freestanding unit houses the fridge and kitchen storage. It also acts as a dividing wall between spaces.

The divider becomes a bookshelf on the other side towards the living room.

Another built in divider, which houses the coat cupboard, defines the entrance and the living spaces.

Scandinavian Inspired Home in Melbourne

I have previously posted a stylish St Kilda apartment by Whiting Architects before and here is another of their projects that I've just discovered this morning via Nordic Design.

There are some lovely moments in this Scandinavian influenced house in Melbourne filled with pieces from Muuto and Hay. I like the dark barn-inspired exterior and the bathrooms. Nice.

Restaurant in Norway

Restaurant in Norway 2014 - 2015

Here are some beautiful photographs of beautiful timber furniture to finish off a busy week. This interior is at Lysverket, a restaurant in Bergen, Norway and it has been furnished with lovely pieces by Danish company, Kobenhavns Mobel Snedkeri. Enjoy.

A Bar in Copenhagen

Ah, it's Friday - and lets finish the week with a cool and relaxed bar from Copenhagen called Lidkoeb. I would be happy here, easing back into one of those comfy Borge Mogensen Spanish Chairs and catching up with friends at the end of the day. This feels like a cosy living room - inviting and comfortable, thanks to the use of warm timbers, leather and shaggy fur throws.

Playing With Heights: Romantic Scandinavian Home

Playing With Heights: Romantic Scandinavian Home

There is only so a lot that colour and furnishings can do for a space. Playing with levels of height is a simple, organic way of stylizing your apartment like this property has carried out: With the use of soft pastel tones and lack of patterns, the rooms of this house remain basic but not plain. However the actual magic lies in the low leveled sofas, counters, tables and other pieces of furnishings: by keeping them to heights around or below the hip, the rooms of this home create an open space that, regardless of becoming properly decorated with flowers and ornaments, nonetheless remains uncluttered.

An elegant and peaceful living space greets you with a cream-colored carpet, white windows, and neutral colored couches and pillows. With a table of candles glowing as the centerpiece, this space invites you to shed away your issues to enjoy the easier issues in life. The white walls are carefully decorated with paintings and a white chimney for those chilly winters, and this ambiance drifts into the kitchen, where 1 can appreciate the low counters and white furnishings. The apartment maximizes its use of space by putting the dinner table right here, while fresh bouquets of roses and lilies decorate the surfaces. Whether or not you’re cooking for oneself or for a group of buddies you’ve invited, this kitchen permits contemporary utilities such as the sink and oven to blend seamlessly with everything else.

Without noticing, you’ll float right into the bedroom—its pure white walls and furniture make each and every morning a refreshing 1. Notice how the pipes and the heating program have also been painted in white the sparing use of green and blues are a playful touch with out going overboard. Of course, the children’s room has a lot more color to it, with the strong use of pinks, but right here also we discover coherence and solidarity with the rest of the apartment. Clutter is minimized with higher, built-in shelves that hold almost everything from books to toys, and the kid has sufficient space to play and study.

As it ought to be, the balcony is put to great use with comfy chairs and several pots of flowers, allowing you to have an intimate space in the midst of the surrounding apartments. The rest of this home, including hallways and bathrooms, are tastefully decorated with utilities. Everyone can appreciate the use of playful, flowery wallpaper at the entrance, which greets guests in a chirpy, clean fashion. Coats and footwear are hung at the entrance to decrease clutter, helping to generate an ethereal ambience that stands cloaked behind the heavy wooden doors of an old-styled creating.

Small but bright Scandinavian apartment

Small but bright Scandinavian apartment

With small apartments there’s often a problem when decorating the interior. Since there’s not much space available, these apartments tend to be dark and crowded. It takes talent and creativity to solve that problem while also making the apartment functional. I this case we have a tiny Scandinavian apartment that only has one room.Luckily that one room was a very large space and this allowed the designer to divide it into different corners and several separate spaces. The apartment is also bright and airy.

That was possible because of all the clean and simple lines. Everything inside is simple and yet cozy. The crisp white walls are also very helpful in this case. They are a simple trick used in small apartments and it helps create the impression of a larger space.

As for the furniture, it’s clean and simple, with sleek designs and chic lines. There are no unnecessary elements in there. Of course, simple doesn’t mean austere. The apartment also features several beautiful art pieces framed and placed on the walls. The colors f the décor and furniture have been kept to a minimum, except for the pictures on the walls and the accessories. Overall, the apartment is bright and airy but also inviting and cozy.. It had a décor that makes you forget how tiny the place is. {found on homedesignlove}.

A scandinavian apartment full of light

Can you believe that this lovely apartment in Malmö, Sweden, measures less than 50 square meters? The white walls, high ceilings and white washed gives this apartment (which is for sale by the way) a spacious feel.
